Description

Hi, my name is Cash Pratt.  I am 10 years old and this is my third year doing the steer project.  My family and I raise show cattle, which I think is pretty cool.  I love that I get to grow up raising cattle, but getting to show them is an opportunity of a lifetime.  I wish all kids my age could get the chance to grow up in this lifestyle.  From my first year to my third year I have learned how to feed each steer differently so that their nutritional plan can make them grow up to be the best they can be.  Not only that, but now I can wash and blow out my steers all by myself to promote hair growth.  Lastly, I have gotten the chance to learn from some of the best in the business on how to clip and fit all my cattle.

I named my steer this year Motto Motto and he weighed a whopping 1327 pounds. My favorite part about having Motto Motto was watching him grow into a Champion, and for that I will forever be proud of myself and him.  Motto Motto was a very unique steer compared to all of my others because any other steer or heifer he came upon he wanted to be their buddy immediately.  He kind of reminded me of myself because I'm pretty easy to get along with too.  Motto Motto was white, so I had to work very hard every single day to keep him clean and make sure his coat was always white.  When I found out I had won Grand Champion Steer at the Pueblo County Fair I was around the people who had helped me and been with me every step of the way.  Those people are my dad, mom and little brother Reed. This year has been a roller-coaster ride, but with all the bumps and turns the ride turned out to be a pretty awesome one.
