Meet my New Zealand Meat Pen. I named them after two of my favorite swimmers for the US Swim team: Michel, Phelps, and Katie Ledecky. During this pandemic, it was awesome to have a project like this to take my mind off of the struggle we are all facing. I learned so much this year about teamwork and attention to detail by breeding, feeding, and caring for this project that my brothers and I raised from conception to the show table in our bunny barn. Their momma was part of the Grand Champion Meat Pen at last year’s STAR Show and their dad was one of our winningest bucks. We had high hopes for this pen and they did not disappoint by eating every pellet of feed we put in front of them and growing out so well.
