Howdy! My name is Kaiden Gafke I've been showing Goats for 3 years, this being my third. I spend an average of 7 hours a week at the barn. My goat, Paint Chip, was kicked off of his mom when he was very young, so when I got him he only weighed 22 pounds. Paint Chip is very friendly and likes to hang around other goats (and exhibitors!). Our work routine is treadmill every other day and run laps outside the days we don't do the treadmill. I feed him (a ton, because he loves to eat and needed to grow) twice a day. He actually gets twice the amount of feed of my sister's goats. He never leaves the trough dry though.
Paint Chip and I earned a blue ribbon at the Guadalupe County Trophy Hunt. We did not do as well as I would have liked at the Ag Fair, but I did get some great advice from the Judge and know we will do better at our next show, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
With the money earned from this fundraiser, I will be purchasing my next livestock project. After we find the perfect goat for next show season, I will put aside some money from my earnings for college and will donate a small portions to a charity.
Thanks for your interest in my adventures, I am so fortunate.
Kaiden Diesel
