My name is Charlie Patton and I am a sophomore at The Ag Magnet Program at Madison High School. I am an active FFA member, and I enjoy raising pigs, welding, and working on my car. This is my second year to raise pigs with the program, and I have been busy since August with one gilt and one barrow. My Cross gilt "Piggy Smalls" won second place in her class at the North East Ag Fair. She continues to put on weight as I plan to enter her in the San Antonio Junior Livestock Show and Rodeo next month. My Hampshire barrow "2pork" won third place in his class at the North East Ag Fair, and has shown at several jackpot shows this season. He loves to eat, and I'm working with him in preparation to show at The San Antonio Junior Livestock Show and Rodeo as well. I have learned a lot about swine health and nutrition this year while raising two pigs for major shows. My goal is to raise two or three pigs as a Junior next year, and maybe a steer during my senior year in the AMP program. After high school, I hope to attend college at Texas A&M Kingsville and major in Ranch Management. Thank you for your support!
