What an amazing year! We checked in our rabbits on Tuesday nights and the weather was warm and humid; by the time we were finished checking in we were all drenched in sweat.  Early the next morning, we fed and watered rabbits with chattering teeth and shivering bodies, because an extremely cold and wet northern had blown in.  My rabbits were equipped with a fur coat and took it in stride. I was so excited when my bunnies won their class and were selected as the champion Californian pen.  Not even the frigid conditions could contain my smile when the judge selected my pen Grand Champion overall.  Raising breeding rabbits has been a year-round labor of love for my family and I have learned so much.  The attention to detail that comes from raising champion rabbits has helped me in the classroom and I believe will serve me well in life.
