4th place 4-H Replacement Heifer
4th place Novice Showmanship
My name is Henry Blagg. I am ten years old. This is my first year showing at Ag Fest. I am in Tokay Colony 4-H. I joined 4-H because my family has been in it for a long time. My parents Tyler and Amy Blagg are the dairy leaders.
I am showing a replacement heifer this year at Ag Fest. Her name is Reeses, like the candy. She is a Jersey. She is bred to Primus Comanche Kestrel - P ET. She is bred to sexed semen so she will have a girl. My heifer's dam gave 24,820 pounds of milk and 1,153 butterfat. It has been a fun time halter breaking, washing, brushing, and feeding my heifer to get her ready to show.
The replacement heifer show and showmanship will be held on June 10 at 10:00 am. The heifer auction is on Saturday, June 11 at 7:00 pm at the San Joaquin Fairgrounds. The reason I am so excited to show is because it is my first year.
In 4-H, the projects I do are dairy, beef, gardening, and shooting sports. My favorites are dairy and beef. I am also showing my Red Angus heifer in the breeding beef show. In the dairy project I enjoyed touring local dairies, going to the MJC Dairy Judging contest, and caring for Reeses.
I hope to see you at the auction. You can also support my project by doing an add-on or scholarship donation to help with the costs of raising my heifer.
