Hi, my name is Trace Peters and I am raising broilers for the Jr. Market Poultry show and auction at the YMBL South Texas State Fair. This is my second year raising broilers for my 4-H Project. I received the broiler chicks on February 10th. Prior to picking up the chicks this year, we had to build a new brooder box and coop to raise the broilers in. I researched the proper temperatures for each stage of the growing process along with a reliable feeding program. From my research data, I then set up the proper heating lights and feeders for the production process and then found a feed store that could supply the proper feed. This poultry project has taught me a lot about the importance of following all the steps through the growing process to produce quality broilers.
