Hi! My name is Savanna Osborn and I'm a Junior at Agriculture Science and Technology Academy (ASTA) and this is my first year to show at BCJLS. This year I am raising 3 pigs and building a Fire Pit for the Ag Mechanics Show. Jack-Jack is the pig I showed at BCJLS and I cam in 7th in my class. I picked him up in late September and I have been working to get him ready for the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.
While raising and fabricating I have learned a lot. I have learned important life skills like responsibility and time management, these skills have also helped me as a member of FFA. For example, I had to learn to divide my time between taking care of my animals, creating and fabricating my fire pit, practicing for the Ag Advocacy team, and volunteering at my church. While I’m not with my pigs, in the shop, or at school, I spend most of my extra time volunteering at church or going dancing with friends. I have been helping my parents on the raffle committee at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo since I was 3 years old. I am now an active volunteer for the Bustin’ in the Barn committee.
