My name is Nikko Garcia, and I am an 8th Grader at Losoya Middle School SSISD in San Antonio, Texas. I am a proud member of the southside FFA. 61st Annual Bexar County Junior Livestock Show. I showed on three different livestock show days. Twice on the 27th with (6) Broilers and (1) Steer then I will be doing the Food Division on the 28th with Salsa and Cookies and again on the 30th with (3) Gilts and (2) Barrows at swine show grounds.
This is my 5th year showing swine. I have three breeding and two market swine projects. This year at the 61st annual Bexar County Junior Livestock Show, I placed 2nd in my market swine class with my crossbred gilt ( Tiny ) that I will be taking to auction. My five pig's names are Violet - a purebred Chester White Gilt, Rose - a purebred Duroc gilt, Angel - a crossbred barrow Blue Butt, Tiny - a crossbred gilt, and Sage - a crossbred barrow. I feed them twice a day, bathe them, and care for them. I spend most of my days at the southside FFA swine barn. Training with them is exhausting but when they drive as well as I've trained them too, I know all the time I have invested was worth it and we have an amazing bond and each one of them has a special place in my heart. I am so grateful that my parents purchased these five pigs and for me to have me take responsibility and the opportunity to learn with them.
