Good Afternoon! My name is Sidney Ochieng and I'm a junior at Timber Creek Highschool. I am first generation American. I am hoping for internships with Caterpillar or John Deere, and I plan on going to Texas A&M to major in Agriculture and minor in Business.
My pullet pen placed 4th at the Tarrant County Junior Livestock Show. It was my first year showing and raising an animal. I plan to raise and enter other livestock shows to grow and gain experience and knowledge in agriculture.
I am a member of Keller CTE FFA, where I'm currently holding an officer position. In my 3 years as an FFA member, I have competed and won in several areas.
- Nationals for Floriculture where we placed 17th in the nation and I place silver as an individual.
- Senior Quiz LDE we placed 1st at District and 3rd at Area.
- Nursery/Landscape CDE we placed 1st at Area and 5th at State.
Joining FFA and agriculture was the best thing to ever happen to me. Its presented opportunities that neither my family nor I, knew were available.
I have grown as a public speaker, leader and agriculturelist thanks to FFA. I have an ever-growing passion for agriculture, and I intend to keep exploring the field more.
Thank you for making this possible for me. I appreciate your time and resources.
