Hello! My name is Hadley Buchanan.  I am sixteen years old and I will be a junior at Falcon High School next year.  I have been a member of the Golden Prairie 4-H Club for six years and have held the office of secretary for three years.  I participate in soccer, softball, swim club and FFA for Falcon High School.  I also enjoy skiing, riding dirtbikes, and volunteering in the AWANA program.  I am currently taking classes thru Pikes Peak State College and I hope to earn a nursing degree in the future.

My 4-H projects are breeding and market goats.  I purchased both of my goats from Marvin Family Show Goats.  My market goat is a six month old Boer wether.  I decided to name him Abed, after a character from one of my favorite TV shows.

Don't let his smaller frame fool you!  He has a lot of shape and dimension of muscle over the top of his hip and into the lower portions of his leg.  This goat would be the perfect choice for those with limited freezer space!

Being in 4-H and raising animals has taught me how to care for something other than myself.  I've learned how to be financially responsible and to keep accurate  business accounts.  I've enjoyed serving my community through trail clean-ups and collecting donations for the Pikes Peak Humane Society.  I've gained confidence in public speaking and forged life-long friendships.  I would greatly appreciate your consideration in offering a bid for my goat at the El Paso County Junior Livestock Sale (Saturday July 20th at 1pm).  Your generous bid will help me to continue my 4-H journey and help me to fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse.  Thank you!
