Since its founding in 1991, the Anne Arundel 4-H Dairy Leasing Club (AADLC) has provided non-farm youth the unique opportunity to work with large animals, starting with the U.S. Naval Academy’s Dairy Herd. This innovative program has grown and become a widely adopted model within 4-H clubs across the country. Thanks to the trust and generosity of dairy farmers throughout Maryland, we continue to have a steady supply of heifers, and we also rely on local suppliers for feed, hay, straw, and veterinary services.

Currently, the heifers are housed at the U.S. Navy Dairy Farm in Gambrills, MD, and the club manages all aspects of the area reserved for the club, including maintenance, structures, pastures, and equipment. All donations will go directly toward maintaining and improving the farm, as well as offsetting the costs of essential equipment.
