My name is Layla Hardin, and I am a proud member of the James Madison FFA Chapter. I have had my Guilt Duroc pig, Churro, since September 1st, 2024. When I received her she weighed 45 pounds, and now with a little bit of love, care, and feed, she weighs well over 270 pounds. Daily my parents take me to the barn morning and night to ensure she is fed, cleaned up after, and worked on. This piggy may look like bacon to some, but to us she means much more. Churro is teaching me life lessons such as responsibility and work ethic. I have learned that you only get out of something the effort that you put into something. Things haven't been easy. Churro started out being very stubborn, she still has days where she doesn't act right, but Churro has been the best pig to raise, she is super sweet and loves to cuddle. By bidding on my project, this will help off set many of the cost my parents will have to pay out of pocket as well as set me up for future projects.
