Hello,
My name is Madison Diego and I am currently a freshman at Madison High School as well as a member of our James Madison FFA Chapter. I am currently raising and showing a market Hampshire gilt named Peaches. I named my pig Peaches because she always has a peachy kind of attitude. Although this is my first year in FFA raising a livestock project, I am enjoying every bit of my time spent in the barn. I have been working countless hours to make sure she looks her best and stays healthy. You will find me at the pig barn every day, twice a day (morning & evening), to clean her pen, walk her, wash her, condition her skin and hair, and feed her. I walk her outside in the morning and evening to strengthen her muscles, build her stamina, and practice our show ring skills together.  I’ve been fortunate to have attended several prospect shows this fall where we were able to not only show the skills that we have practiced together, but most importantly, we’ve been able to learn together! Peaches and I continuously put in work and effort at the barns practicing consistently. Every day when I arrive, she's just as excited to see me as I am to see her. I do believe it's because she knows she's about to get fed, but aside from food, she really enjoys being conditioned and brushed. Even though she has a sweet peachy personality, she’s proven to be a bit spicy at times, but it's been a blast to work with her.
