My name is Cody Coats. I'm a JR in high-school and this is my 3rd year raising pigs. My family has been involved in the FFA for almost 10 years but I didn't start raising until 3 years ago as a freshman in high-school. This year I have 2 pigs, 1 duroc and 1 cross gilts, and I've really put all my time into this program. This year I have been heavily dedicated to improving my showmanship and listening to my AG teacher's suggestions. I'm very proud of what I've accomplished this year, especially this show and having both of my pigs in the grand drive, earning my first belt buckle. I couldn't have done it without my friends and family support. While I have gotten beat and lost again and again I've decided to learn from my mistakes instead of dwelling on my loss. Raising pigs has taught me how to be responsible whether it be saving my money for pig feed or deciding what to do with my time, raising really had taught it all. I'm excited for what the future has to bring me, good or bad I feel prepared and exited to face my challenges head on and even if I mess up I know I can get back up because of the lessons I've learned from this program. Please help me continue this passion I have for raising and donate to my projects for next year, my senior year.
