Hi, my name is Gwen and this is my 1st year doing a market goose project for 4H. I am currently the treasurer of the Angel Fire 4H club and I enjoy getting to hang out with people who also enjoy raising animals.

I raised Embden Geese this year. I chose these birds because they put on weight fast and I have really enjoyed how talkative they can be! 

I have learned a lot of valuable lessons while raising these geese. For example, it is important to give them access to lots of water. I learned that geese are different from turkeys - they need to have their food and water close together so they can digest food better. Also it can be helpful to keep the geese outside because they are a lot messier than the turkeys.
