The Elbert County Fair is almost over, and with it, the end of my 4-H journey. These past ten years have given me lasting friendships, life lessons, leadership skills, and so much personal growth.
This fair is full of “lasts” — full of cheers and tears. My last camps and conferences, where I had to say goodbye to amazing friends. The last time I walked the fashion revue stage. And Tuesday was my final sheep show. I left it all in the ring — and with it, a piece of my heart. I held it together until I stepped out.
Now, this Saturday brings my last junior market sale, where I’ll walk with Rooster one last time. I pushed myself and the lambs to the finish, and in doing so, I formed one final bond.
