Howdy!  My name is Jared Cox but people call me JT.  This is my first year raising a steer and it has been an exhilarating and interesting experience.  I am part of the Linden FFA and I am raising a Charlois-Angus cross steer.  My steer's name is Hank and he weighs approximately 1300 pounds.  I've enjoyed this first year very much and it has taught me many important lessons and attributes.  It has helped me with accountability, managing money, work ethic, and responsibility.  My favorite part of raising a steer has been halter breaking it and teaching it how to lead.  When I purchased my steer he was not used to people so it was a fun challenge to teach him how to trust me.  It included many scratches and treats! I thoroughly enjoyed my first year and am looking foward to doing it again!
