My name is Selena Houck. This is my 2nd year in the Harwood 4-H club. I live in Lothian, MD and I am 17 years old. I attend Southern High School as an 12th grader. I was born with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy, and I am a full-time wheelchair user. I want to show others that no matter your abilities, all things are possible. My family has always told me “Where there is a will, we will find away”. 
 

My 2nd year 4-H project is a market lamb named Charlotte. She was born January 19, 2025, and she is a Kerry Hill/Katahdin lamb. I got to bottle feed her for the first few months, and it helped me to bond with her. 
Charlotte is fed every morning around 6 am and fed in the afternoon around 4:30 pm. It is important that you keep to a schedule to decrease stress. This year I had Charlotte at the Blue Line BBQ Brawl in Lothian, MD. I hope to do more with Charlotte over the summer and start preparing for Fair. Charlotte is friendly, and has learned how to walk next to my wheelchair.
