Hi my name is Michael, and this is my Turkey Gouda, like the cheese!  Gouda was hatched on May 5, 2025. Gouda is a Broad Breasted White turkey and the reason I picked this breed is I thought they were very pretty.  Gouda's favorite things to do are eat and sleep!  

Broad Breasted White turkeys are a commercial breed that are large in size, have high meat yield and fast growth!  Broad Breasted White turkeys are docile and have limited ability to fly, there are the most popular breed of domestic turkey. 

This is my 2nd year in 4-H and my first year doing a market turkey project.  I have realized it is one of the best starter market projects to do because they are low maintenance and fun to work with and show.  Through doing this project, I have learned how to get your turkey plump, learned about cleaning their coop, learned about turkey anatomy and feed needs.  I have also learned that they like to make a big mess!  Thank you for learning about my turkey Gouda!  The end.
