Original Custom FFA Bronze Statue - FFA-the Door of Opportunity
For anyone who has ever walked through the door of the FFA, the impact of the opportunity is
felt immediately. Whether that impact is from a personal experience or through the eyes of a
supporter, it is abundantly clear that this organization positively changes lives.

In this day and time, the mission of “Agriculture Education” is of paramount importance.
However, the organization's impact goes to even greater depths where students learn the
values of "Respect, Responsibility, and Resiliency".

Through this upcoming sculpture, my goal is to show one student escorting another through the
FFA Door of Opportunity. The door is placed on a set of books to demonstrate the

knowledge that waits beyond it. On the spine of each book the words of Respect,
Responsibility and Resiliency will be placed. I used actual vintage books on agriculture to create
the mold. Once cast, the books will be the backdrop for the bronze, and the boy and girl will stand in front of the door, as seen in the attached drawings.

This original finished piece was designed specifically for our LEADing a Legacy Social Event. It stands approximately 13” tall, 14” wide, and 8” deep. The boy and girl are approximately 9” tall. The bronze will be mounted on a walnut base and weigh approximately 18 pounds. The finished bronze is expected to return from the foundry in 12 weeks.

In the bronze art world, each piece has a numerical designation indicating the specific
number of the piece and the number of units offered in the series. This piece of art, with the
state of TEXAS on the back of the young man’s jacket, will be a very limited piece with only 25
units ever produced. Ten of the 25 will be reserved for use by the Texas FFA Foundation. The
remaining 15 pieces will be offered for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Texas
FFA Foundation. At this auction, we will be auctioning off the coveted #1/25. This is the most
valued piece to own in the upcoming series.
