El Paso County Junior Livestock Sale- CO

We invite you to join us for a “Spudtacular Journey” at the 2025 El Paso County Fair (Fair), which runs from July 12^th through July 19^th. This year marks the 120^th year of the Fair; an event which started in 1905 as a potato festival, where the farming community came together to celebrate a year of bumper crops and enjoy good times. Activities are planned throughout the week to commemorate the decades of what has become a traditional gathering to showcase our County’s agricultural history.

As part of this “Spudtacular” event, the 2025 Junior Livestock Sale (Sale) is scheduled to be held at the El Paso County Fair and Event Center, located at 366 10^th Street, in Calhan, Colorado, on Saturday, July 19^th, at 1:00 p.m. The format of the Sale will be the same as in recent years with a live in-person auction, combined with an online simulcast hosted by Stockshowauctions.com to provide for online bidding. 

As a result of the success of strategic partnership with Protein for Helping Others (P4HO) and the Springs Rescue Mission, you will be provided with the following purchasing options at the Sale this year:

1.  Retain for Own Use: You pay full bid price of the animal, select a custom processor from the processor list, and pay the processing costs to the custom processor. The Committee transports the animal to the custom processor for you.

2.  Springs Rescue Mission Donation: You are responsible for payment of the full bid purchase price of the animal to the Committee. The Committee will haul the animal to the custom processor and arrange for the payment of any associated harvest fees.  Your donation provides a valuable source of protein as the Springs Rescue Mission utilizes the donated meat to prepare and serve meals. Additionally, the Springs Rescue Mission uses the carcasses to teach culinary skills which provides practical knowledge that will help the individuals seek future employment opportunities.

 3.  Buyback: You pay only the difference between the market price (buyback amount listed in the Sale Program). No other arrangements are necessary.
