Hello, my name is Alexis Brown and I am a 13-year-old 7th grade student at Central Middle School. I am a first year member of the Harwood 4H group. I am raising a Berkshire gilt market hog as my first project; she was born on February 1 and her name is Hamlet. Hamlet has been on SunGlo feed from The Mill, rotating from 18g to 16g based on our breeder, Hough Family ShowPigs recommendation.

I’m excited to have learned so much responsibility, animal care, and agricultural knowledge. In the short time I’ve had Hamlet I’ve already been both challenged and rewarded; learning that with fun also comes lots of hard work.  I have been working hard in taking daily care of and training Hamlet. We start our day early with breakfast and belly rubs! We have created a routine and scheduled for cleaning her pen, feeding, walking, and bathing. Hamlet loves belly rubs, butt rubs, and being sprayed by the hose. I have discovered she loves cheetos and big marshmallows as special treats.

I would be honored if you would consider purchasing Hamlet.  Any proceeds will go towards enhancing my future 4H projects followed by any extras going into my college/career fund.  Your support would not only help me continue my 4H journey, but also contribute to the development of youth in our community.
