Hi, my name is Madison Kragel and this is my eighth year in for each and I am going to be a senior in high school this year. This is my second year doing the market turkey for each project and my eighth year doing poultry. 

I have been raising a Bronze Breasted Turkey this year.  Turkeys are very amusing animals to raise, our turkeys live in our backyard and has watched many hours of me and my siblings swimming. Despite the fact my turkey is quite heavy, I enjoy picking her up and giving her hugs. My first year doing Market turkeys I was around 11-12 years old and was quite intimidated by the size of my turkey, especially knowing I would have to show it. This year I am excited to take on the challenge of showing my turkey with it being around 30lbs. My turkey is fed Nutrena Meat Bird feed that is 22% protein and weeds and grass in my backyard.

If you see me outside of 4H you will most likely catch me playing basketball, volleyball or doing track, along with swimming, painting and working out.

I will be selling my turkey at the 4-H Junior Livestock Auction on Saturday, July 19th, 2025 at the El Paso County Fairgrounds in Calhan, Colorado. I would like to invite you to come to the auction that starts at 1:00pm, and there will be a buyer BBQ lunch from 10:30am to 12:30pm in Swink Hall. If you can’t make it in person, you can also join the auction online at www.stockshowauctions.com and bid from home. Either way, I'm thankful for your consideration on my 4H Market Turkey project! I'm going to save the money towards my college track and field career.
