Hello, My name is Steele Moyer. I participate in Eagle County 4 H and this year we have a new way of doing our auction. This is due to Covid. So many things have changed with the virus, I am just happy to have been able to still raise my project and to have an opportunity to show her and sell her.
It was great to have something to work on while so many things were changing in the world. I raised my swine at my house so I did not have to wear a mask around her. I live on a small farm on Brush Creek Road with my family. I am 13 years old. I’ve been in 4-H 5 years.

I have a Notch 8-2 x bred Gilt hog from D & D Genetics for sale.
Her weight as of 07/10/2020 was 245.
Her Breed is an x bred Gilt
“Night” is her name, my animals market strength is that as of July,10 2020 is 245lbs.
The optimal weight for butchering is 280.
Based upon her gain she will be right at the perfect weight when the auction and show are in July!
I have participated in 4-H because it is a learning experience and makes you more responsible because you have duties. The money helps me invest it in Edwards jones to make more money in stocks and that will help me buy a vehicle and pay for college.
My swine has been fed Moormans swine food which I get from the Silt Food Coop. Jerry comes up each week and we help him unload it. My swine has had two room mates this summer. My brother, Maverick was raising a swine and our family also had one. It is good to have more than one in a pen.
Our pen is right next to Brush Creek so it stayed nice and cool this summer.
We made sure that we had two waterers so they would not have to fight over water and we made sure that we had 4 feeders for the three hogs so they would not have to fight over feed.
They have an enclosed shelter with a tin roof and concrete pad so that they can stay cool and dry and when it was cold we also had heat lamps in there for them.
My hog is the happiest hog of the bunch. She is always wagging her tail and is always curious when you approach her. She doesn’t bite and she is not afraid of you.
My goals for this year are to raise a well-rounded animal for 4 H and to make enough money to invest it in Edwards Jones but also to have enough to buy my next 4 h project for next year.
I would like to personally invite you to our Eagle County 4-H auction. It is a virtual auction this year from July 24th at 3:00 pm through Saturday July 25th at 8:00 pm. You have to go on line to https://www.stockshowauctions.com. You will need to register as a buyer on the site.
This is a terminal auction and all animals will be processed at Mountain Meat Packaging in Craig, Colorado.
Meat will then be delivered back to the fairgrounds on Wednesday, August 12th.

All monies paid by buyers will be invoiced by StockShowAuctions.com but paid directly to the non-profit organization. Buyers may receive federal income tax deductions for the amount paid to a non-profit organization through a sanctioned premium sale.
CONDITIONS: Any person placing bids on items in this auction agrees to these terms and conditions and understands that, by placing bids, they are entering into a binding contract between themselves and the consignor(s) and that they will be held financially responsible for their actions. BID RETRACTIONS: There are no bid retractions. ALL BIDS ARE NON-CANCELLABLE ONCE SUBMITTED. Once a bid is made and confirmed, it cannot be retracted. When a bid is made you manifest your intent and ability to buy the lot at the bid price. A false or fraudulent bid may result in legal action. Any winning Bidder who refuses to purchase the lot may be banned from all future online auctions.
LOT REMOVAL: Despite efforts to avoid the withdrawal of lots from the online auction sale after they are listed, it may sometimes be necessary to do so; therefore, the consignor reserves the right to withdraw a lot at any time before or during the online auction sale ends without recourse from such from bidders.
AT YOUR OWN RISK: Auctioneer is not responsible for injury or accidents. All animals become property of the buyer at the conclusion of the auction. Consignors cannot be held responsible for the health or condition of animals after the conclusion of the auction.
